Graduated UT, '63, UT School of Law,'67. Practiced in Dimmit, TX. for 1 yr. Moved to Galveston as an Assistant District attorney for 18 months.
Practiced in Texas City, Galveston County until about 2000.
I was in the 1st group certified as Personal Injury Trial Lawyers and tried cases all over Texas.
I was Pres of the local bar and served as a state Bar DIrector. My son Russ has taken over my practice, Burwell,, Burwell and Nebout. I married Gladys in while in law school, we divorced in '80; she is the long time Probate Judge of Galveston Co. We have 2 children, Russ, and a daughter, Rebecca, who is a lawyer in Portland, Or. I married Phyllis in '84, we have a daughter, Jessica, an accountant in Durango.
Since I quit I have been running my small farm, raising hay, taking care of my horses, working the minature donkeys, fattening the steers, shooting shotguns and cowboy and serving as a trustee of the Pine River Library District. My wife owns a store, Oohs and Aahs, on Main in Durango.
