March 28-29 2014 Reunion

35 of the Nu members of the 1960's and spouses meet on Lake Travis in Austin for a fun time.  The weather was beautiful.  The food was wonderful.  The visiting and remembering was excellent.  What a pleasure to remember 50 years ago and look to our future.

Bringing Back Wonderful Memories

What a wonderful time Carrie Lee and I had at the reunion.  We missed the first two due to illness and previous commitments to our regret.  It was great seeing the brothers in my pledge class again and reminiscing about the good times in both the old house on Lavaca Street and the house on Leon Street as well.  Bill Royle did an outstanding job of coordinating the reunion once again, and not enough can be said about the hospitality of Bob and Sunny Ernst.  My only regret is that some were not able to attend and they were sorely missed.  Carrie Lee and I are looking forward to the next reunion and hope that all my brothers and their famiilies stay safe and well.

To reiterate, Carole and I so enjoyed this event.  It was so good to see everyone once again.  So many of those pictures show old people.  Who are they?

The traffic on this site generated an email to me from former room mate Labe Wingert, a.k.a., Laban W. Wingert from Elmira New York.  My reply included a note that this August 17 Carole and I will have been married 51 years.  Attached was a picture I took of two wedding presents we still have.  There were two items:  a stainless steel salad bowl Labe gave us, and an Italian expresso maker from Jim Newton.  We think of them both each time we use them.

Best to all for a good summer.  Doug and Carole Boyd
